First shot in KK. Took Air Asia flight. Now everyone can fly!

The plane at Senai 0720hrs

The cultural village. Some hero guy named Monsopiad killed like 42 other tribe leaders and kept their skulls as momentos.

The village rock that supposedly has a spirit guarding the people.

Entrance to the skull place

Bird on a roof. The city wet market

At the village again, grinding rice to make powder to make rice wine.

Bats outside the sull house

Cakes of yeast and distillation equiptment for the wine making (tapai)

The vat for fermenting

There is this new law that says you can't behead your enemies now. So the people killed monkeys instead.

Blowpipe. fun.

Slingshot. Harder than blowpipe.

Terror Teren Killed the monkey!

The guide walking on poles. None of us managed to do it.

Teren with the weapon

We killed everything on the styrofoam, including the tree branch

Heaving sago to get powder to make sago flour.

Sago worms!

Yummy!

I just realized the photos are in very weird order. will rectify it tomorrow.
This is Teren trying to look mean.

Chewed up worm. Proof that I am eligible for the next fear factor round.

yeah, yeah, mum did tell me not to waste food.

Fooling around a suspension bridge

Some weird stools used for wedding ceremonies.

Groupie

Swan song

Kingfisher on the bridge. Chased away later by our laughter.

Cultural performances. This is the harvest dance.

This is the dance where you get your feet cut off.

We escaped unhurt

This is some other dance with this guy screeching 'yeeh' every few seconds.

coins as belts

This is the prettiest lady of them all.

Another groupie

Our lodging in town. Trekkers Lodge. Not bad.

Sunset at the esplanade

The whole row of birds looking for fish at the nearby sea

The market. one section just for shoes.

Roadside fresh produce hawkers.

First meal in KK: burger king. Check out the mountain of fries.

Two kids climbing up the market roof.

This overhead bridge connects 5 rows of shophouses to the market and a nearby shopping complex. Longest overhead bridge I've ever seen.
