Day 6 was special because it was only half day of lectures and then in the evening there was a congress ceremony.
Went off early and ate lunch at the ramen alley. The whole street is just filled of ramen stalls.
There were some stalls full of customers, some empty, I chose the empty one: bad move.
After that, went to the park and saw this colonial style hotel, now just a white house for tourists.
The pond in the park.
The Sapporo orchestra played.
beer night at Zepp sapporo. From the queue, you just know they will run out of food and orange juice pretty quick.
We left the zepp soon after the croud turned restless because of the lack of carbon based molecules entering their gastro intestinal tract. Instead, took a tram and went to a nearby hill.
The inside of the tram. Y170 price, no matter where you go.
Cable car, cost Y990
mount top view. Breathtaking.
Merged images
After the chilling time at teh top of the mount, we came down, took the tram back to town and went to another food fest at night at Susukino. Ate japanese satay.
Japanese pau. Y200 to 300 each
The pau shop
bbq sweet corn. super sweet.
Grilled fish. never tried it becasue have to buy 5 minimum.
Saw a big rabbit.
a chocolate coated banana
the back of a truck converted into a stage. Japanese getai!

japan day 5
can you believe, more pictures?
My breakfast
My lunch bento. Some company gave us a box lunch if we agreed to stay in a hall and listen to their propaganda for an hour. No such thing as free lunch, eh?
The nice people from a certain microscope company brought us to eat 'Genghis Khan' grilled lamb slices.
We were at this place called Sapporo Factory, which is a converted beer factory, now a shopping mall, we were in some eating place in that mall.
From the plate...
... Into the frying pan. Good stuff. Mouth watering now as I remember the dinner.
Crabs (again) anyone?
Gelato. This one is Mic's pumpkin flavour. Tastes ok to me but to Mic who had a cold, it was tasteless, poor thing.
The nice people from Jeol and another lady researcher from OZ.
The restaurant bar. quite an oily place because of all the grilling. Was kind of afraid for my camera lens.
After dinner me and Mic went about the 'factory'. Everythign except a few eateries and the movies were closed. took a few panoramic pics. This is the inside.
This is the outside.
This is while walking back we saw the TV tower and took a pic of it.

Scallops
Sea urchin
Trumpet shells
Bueh tahan lia
My breakfast. Tuna and rice
We shared this: urchin roe, fish egg, crab in miso, prawn, scallop.

The FEI night at Renaissance hotel. Late commers find there is no food left. Microscopists sure can eat.
Live music that nobody bothered about.
Some dance group performed. Not exactly japanese IMHO.
The crowd went wild when they finished. I wonder why.
