lousy hood

After less than a month, the working top of the two new BSC hoods were terribly scratched. Yes, its supposed to be stainless steel not scratchproof steel but still, its quite ugly, B: complained and they sent two new tops to us for free. We are going to get two more hoods from them anyway.

taking over 01-05

Took over the other half of the other lab. it will become the P2 lab where all virus work is done. Even shifted the -80 in already. Now waiting for the Co2 incubators and BSC hoods to arrive. Also got a new -20 and a new 4C fridge at the common space. The -20 is for FBS and stocks.

honours poster presentation

This time round they had it at MPSH, and even then, needed two rounds of posters to finish them all. that shows the large numbers of die-cast life science grads the uni is churning out. anyway, here is our little prince and princess.

A week in the life of a Cherry Blossom

2 Weddings and a Puppy

Brought some students from Harvard School of Public Health around for a mini-tour in Kyoto. Saw a couple of weddings. The guy is dressed up in some old official's uniform, and the lady has some very ornate kimono. But not sure what kind as it's not the usual sort. We thought this couple was quite rich until we saw...

This couple which could afford a much huger procession and had some people employed to tell us to get out of the way. The whole gang looked a bit suspicious. Hmmmm. The groom's expression is a bit sad though.

Some kids playing soccer under the cherry blossoms.

My usual laundromat.

Nervous but friendly puppy. Waiting for his owner outside a supermarket.

horse-ee

There was some life science exhibition in school and some companies came to set up booths. 1st base gave out squeese balls but in the form of horses. The whole lab went to get one each. We could start a ranch.
