As lab SOP goes, after the final exam for year 4 students, they have to treat the whole lab to lunch. We went to Vienna. Oh BTW, we have three second upper's and one second lower. Not bad at all, well, at least better than me.
I think this place has a better spread than the Pariss place we went to some months back.
Good ambiance:
We came in, seated down and got served with a buddha jumping over the wall. Either Buddha is very tall or the wall is very short, coz the soup is good, but not amazing.
The usual fare of seafood. The oysters were fresh but I couldnt taste the 'sea' flavour. So didnt really enjoy them. The crab sucked.
The abalone was ok, the jellyfish so-so, the octopus good.
The prawns not very fresh. The curry chicken not spicy enough. The crocodile soup had real croc meat.
The puff has durian in it. the soup is ginseng fish soup. I liked that one. Satay was not smokey enough for me. The steak was almost well done. Good and chewey.
The pot contains mushroom chicken soup. There's a piece of chicken in broth with 4 different kinds of mushroom. The soup was good.
Corn with bread. Not bad, but rather filled by this time to properly enjoy it.
Ice-cream was half melting, the marshmallow with chocolate was nice. The chocolate cheese cake was good.
We got this bunch of test tube drinks that were supposedly alcoholic. Since we use 70% denatured alcohol like water in the lab and were so saturated with it already, no one at the table actually confessed tasting anyting like alcohol in it.
The 'queen' came late.
And got fed by everyone else who were already half full.
Terror Teren's chcolate drink with ice cream.
Jas the queen being fed with a continual stream of food by everyone else who I guess had nothing better to do.
The final shot(s):
Until next time.

Visitor
Got a researcher visiting our island from the subcontinent of I. So brought him out for lunch. The Maharajah at Chip Bee. Not bad, only the price a tad pricy. The tandoori smoke from the kitchen kept filtering into the guest area. But the overall was good. Especially enjoyed the garlic naan, fish curry and fried brinjal. There's this window where you can watch the chef cutting, spicing and cooking the tandoori chicken on a skewer. Not much of a sight though.

Do Not Use
The ultrapure water filter got stuck or got some parts spoil or dont know what but the reading went really low, from the normal 18.2, it went down to .52. And its only 7 months old. But the warranty doesnt cover these kind of parts. Pasted a note to tell everyone 'Do Not Use' but still the other lab people jolly jolly go take water from there. Dont know they so desperate, or their experiments dont need so pure water or they cannot read or what. But if their experiment doesnt need pure water, why go take the RO water in the first place, might as well go on the tap right?
Seems like this month the Dept no money to buy stuff, got to wait for next month. So now got to lug water from upstairs down again, like the good, erm..., bad, old days.
