trivia
How do you know when you are doing too much Elisa?

when the yellow tips stack higher then yourself
How do you know when you are doing too much cell culture?

When you dont even bother to keep your media into the fridge because you'll gonna use them so soon.
How do you know when you are doing too much plaque assay?

When 2/3 of the shelf is filled up and all the plates bear your name.

NHG annual congress pt 2
oh, ok, more serious stuff...
nov 10-11 2007, annual meeting.
Dr, Tony Tan officiated it.
the main hall was quite cool. the main projector, the long one in front is a digital one. good stuff. very clear.

4000 registered delegates

Dr edward holmes opening speech, not bad.

Dr. Tony Tan visiting the posters, too bad he passed on Terror's one...

Terror's poster, nominated for best poster in the basic science category.

The rest of us normal people who submitted posters get only a 'virtual' one. there are two parts to this, one: the summary is flashed onto the walls.

The second part is online, you access the full poster on a pc terminal... i.e. no one will read your poster.

super crowded exhibitor's room, everybody fighting for freebies.

one of the more interetting talks,

a psychologist found that the brain patterns between geniuses and madmen are not quite different...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

lunch for carnivores.

lunch for herbivores

NHG annual congress
as usual, conferences = go grab all the souvenirs you see... muahahaha...

Name card. got to scan the barcode when you enter any room to hear the talks.

The pseudo-crumpler conference bag, quite cool, save the round thing in the middle

The thing you use to hit your knee and laugh at the reflex action.

mug

all the companies were handing out pamphlets of their products, well this one was the only 'interesting' one, OF COURSE #4!!!

frisbee... i forsee more staff disappearances in the evenings next week....

weird paperclips

pseudo-pills. its post-it notes inside

like real only...

cool mini-calculator.

phase contrast pics
took some pics of my, erm not my, but the mice macrophage cells...
the reason why i took pics was they were growing in weird circular shapes. kind of like crop circles. i think some aliens came and abducted some of my, erm... the mice cells. then they left this as a sign to tell me they were here.

doesnt this look like a bird?

BIRD! kind of a flamingo like creature... ok, maybe abit too imaginative...

smaller cell circles.

MK's tour group
Our dear friend MK brought a whole batch of his sps kids to the lab for a tour. Was minding my own business watching some movie when suddenly got overwhelmed by this troupe of kids bouncing in prodding and poking at everything. They were supposed to visit the lab, not question why there is a Bionicle on my table.....
oh, btw, sps = http://sps.nus.edu.sg/
