Invitrogen last month had a promotion, just trade in your old kit box for a free sample one, no restriction number. So we sent in 9 minipreps, 2 midi, 5 maxi, 1 mammalian RNA and 3 gel elution. And the free kits really came! the mini ones were for 50 reactions, the midi 15, and the maxi 10, the gel is 50 rxn.
Dont buy Invitrogen stock this year, they are running at a loss, with people like me around...
Oh, we had to 'clear' stock and so bought many kits to store for 'rainy days', which explains the obscene number of kits we have at the moment.

Also to me! Oh wait..I dont use kits.
Maybe invitrogen are also clearing old stock! make sure you check all the expiry dates (might be differing dates between reagents within one kit)!!!
