The corridor: data

Today they laid the data cables for the LAN system. One point costs $200 to lay. Previously computer center would do it for everybody for free, now you have to call an external contractor to do it for you, but at least they do a good job of it.

We have now 30 new data points, i.e. $6000 spent.

Cables, cables, nothing but cables.

This one is intersting. The table guy got called in the morning to come down and survey the site so that the cabel people know where to put the points. He refused and instructed them to place the points 'on the wall', lower than 10" from the ground.
Which the data people did.
Then the table guy appeared near 5pm.
And got a shock!
He saw them putting the cabels on the wall, lower than 10" from the ground.
Supposedly there was this metal strip of thing holding the tables together running along that same area. And so there now is a conflict of interest.
Whose fault?
The stupid table guy.
And he still have the guts to ask the data people to relay ALL their cables so that he can put in his tables.
What a big idiot. He wouldnt come in the morning, gave specific instructions for work to be done and now counter his own instructions plus put everybody in a tight spot because of his own poor planning.
He's the guy in white. If you do see him, please don't give him any business:

Clipsal, supposedly the best brand for data cables today
